HOW DOES IT WORK?

  1. Our gift cards are electronic and are valid for 1 year from the date of purchase.
     

  2. Click on the 'Purchase Gift Card' button below and select the gift amount (in $35 increments) to purchase.
     

  3. Once you pay, you receive a voucher code that you can print. You will also be given the opportunity to create a nice customized gift voucher as a PDF to email to the person.
     

  4. The person receiving the gift visits our web site (this page) to redeem the gift voucher and makes a booking.

  • What is an escape room?
    Escape rooms are a live interactive gaming entertainment experience where you and your fellow players have 60 minutes to break out of a room by cracking codes, solving riddles, piecing together puzzles and finding clues!
  • Do I need to bring anyting with me to escape?
    Just your friends and a winning spirit! You will only need the clues within the rooms to escape. Before your game, we’ll ask you to fill out a quick waiver. To save time, please fill out a waiver online.
  • Do you accommodate large groups?
    Yes. Please email us at info@breakoutstudios.com with the details and desired booking times and we will do our very best to accommodate your needs!
  • Is there an age limit?
    The level of difficulty varies from room to room and clue to clue. Our rooms are designed to be pretty challenging. However, they are not scary or inappropriate. Our rooms are recommended for ages 13 and up. All participants under the age of 18 will need a waiver signed by an adult accompanying them.
  • How much does it cost?
    The cost varies by the number of participants and the specific game. The cost can vary from $40 to $50 per participant. The booking system automatically calculates the total cost before you commit to booking your experience. Payment is due at the time of booking.
  • Are the rooms physically challenging?
    Our rooms are designed to test your team work skills and mental agility. Some rooms may require you to dip, duck or step over certain things but no heavy lifting or strenuous activity is required.
  • I want to book something outside of your regular hours, can I?"
    Absolutely! We open up for corporate events and private events when requested. Let us know when how we can accommodate you!
  • Is it like a haunted house?
    No our experiences are not trying to frighten you. Our storylines may be engaging, but are by no means scary or "haunted house"-like
  • Do you have parking?
    We are located in downtown San Jose right next to at least 2 parking structures. There’s also curbside parking (free parking after 6 pm).   • Will I need prior knowledge before entering the room?
    No, all our missions can be solved from clues found in the room. However, you will have to depend on the help of your teammates and problem-solving skills to escape.
  • How long will it take?
    It is recommended that you arrive 15 minutes prior to your start time for a room briefing. Our lobby is a fascinating place and part of the narrative. You will be in the escape room for up to 60 minutes, but your overall experience can be as long as 90 minutes.
  • Am I really going to be 'Locked' in a room?
    No, we do not lock any of our participants in any of their experiences. If you need to use the restroom or step out for any reason, you can notify Mission Control and they can assist you.
  • Do you have a groupon?
    We do not offer Groupon coupons.
  • Is your facility handicap accessible?
    Unfortunately, no. Our building is an older building without any elevators. We are located on the 2nd floor that can only be accessed by stairs.
  • Is it ok for us to bring alcohol with us? We're all 21+.
    For all private bookings, we do not allow alcohol. But for private events, who utilize the Event space, drinking is permitted only within the event space
